Halo Wars 2 was going to get some air time during the Microsoft E3 press conference on Monday, but it appears that the game will also be let loose in the wild at the same time for players to try the RTS sequel in open beta.

A product page for the open beta was found in the Xbox store by Mondo Xbox, then reproduced by GameInformer. The beta will begin on the June 13 and run through June 20, and be a 13 GB download for the Xbox One.

There is no word on whether there will be an open beta for the PC version at the same time, but the dev team is indeed working on playable versions for E3. Total War developer Creative Assembly is creating the sequel for Microsoft.

It also looks like a bunch of screenshots have leaked as well
